I just had one on Saturday when we were at the park. When it comes to refreshment on a hot Magic Kingdom day, it is sheer perfection. Of course, I miss the little plastic cups (like the one pictured on the sign), but I suppose they weren't as readily recyclable/compostable.
Wait... Has this long comment now nullified my record short post? Dang it!
For the uninitiated, I suppose I should clarify that a Dole Whip is a soft-serve pineapple-flavored treat available in only two locations at the Walt Disney World Resort - Aloha Isle in Adventureland and Captain Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Resort. It should also be noted that a true Dole Whip is the plain pineapple variety, not the version mixed with vanilla ice cream or the orange-flavored Citrus Swirl (though also delicious).
Okay, short post made even longer. No one ever accused me of lacking something to say.
You're right, AJ. Captain Cook's has Dole Whips which are not only self-serve (fill those cups as much as you want), but the Cast there doesn't ever seem to mind if you go up for more. Ah... Pineapple Heaven!
I was just at Disneyland, and I enjoyed the fact that at the original Tiki Room, we were allowed to purchase Dole Whips within the preshow waiting area and could bring them into the theater. I don't think that is allowed (or at least it is discouraged) at WDW.
I believe this sets records for being the shortest and the most delicious blog entry ever!

The new orange/vanilla swirl is amazing. I can't not grab one when I'm at the Magic Kingdom.
ReplyDeleteThese are at Captain Cook's, too, correct? And what did I hear about refills...?
