Fantasyland at Disneyland is a charming storybook village in which many of our favorite Disney characters live. One whole corner of the land is dedicated to the characters and stories from Alice in Wonderland. Adjacent to the Mad Tea Party and Alice in Wonderland ride-through attraction is the wonderful Mad Hatter shop.
While named for the tea party host, this location is clearly home to none other than the White Rabbit. There are human-size doors for visiting Guests, but there is also this door scaled down for the master of the house. (Riley was knocking, but the White Rabbit must not have been home that day.)
The interior of the shop is appropriately Wonderland wacky, with odd angles and quirky decor. There are allusions to other characters from the story (the top hat cutouts in the banister and the Caterpillar on the mirror), but notice the predominant carrot motif and all the family portraits of bunnies and rabbits.
And up on one side of the shop, we get a peek into the loft where the White Rabbit and his family actually live. Here, everything from the light fixtures to the grandfather clock is adorned with rabbit ears.
It's a darling little shop, chock full of details to help tell the story and enrich the overall Disneyland park experience.
Don't know if it still happens, but the Cheshire Cat used to appear and disappear in the Caterpillar mirror.
