The bright red chicken coop at Goofy's Wise Acres Farm serves as home station for the all-country broadcast on WACKY Radio. DJ Red Barns, the rowdiest rooster on radio, brightens the airwaves with his own brand of music and comedy.
"That was Rusty Pots and the Skillet Lickers with their Toon Country hit, 'Sweetheart I Was Drawn to You with a Number 2 Pencil.' You're listening to Red Barns at W-A-C-K-Y, wacky toon country radio. And now a word from our sponsor. Farmers, are your crops dusty? Then call Goofy's Barnstormer Crop Dusting Service. Goofy will hop in his plane and dust off all your crops 'til they're clean and shiny!"
Of course, WACKY doesn't have the greatest reach. Their tower pretty much only allows the show to be heard here and on the radio in Minnie Mouse's living room across the street.
During the land's previous incarnations as Mickey's Birthdayland and Mickey's Starland, the buildings now used as the radio station and queue entrance for the Barnstormer were part of Grandma Duck's Farm, a petting zoo attraction. The smaller building was a popular hangout for the goats, while the famous Minnie Moo could usually be found around back. Minnie Moo was a cow with a naturally-occurring, Mickey-shaped blotch on her side. A similar cow, named Mickey Moo, found a home at the Big Thunder Ranch at Disneyland.
When Grandma Duck's Farm closed with the rest of Mickey's Starland in 1996, the animal residents were moved to new homes at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
