Docked in the waters of the Toon Lagoon is Donald Duck's boat, the Miss Daisy. A sculpture of the boat's namesake graces the bow, and Donald's own sailor suit has been hung out to dry from the rigging above.
The Miss Daisy, designed in a terrifically Toony style, is actually home to a water play area. Here, kids can wade through the water (blue-tinted Saf Dek), splash on the lily pads, and dodge jets of water being shot at them from above.
Inside the boat, young Guests can take the wheel for Captain Donald Duck or navigate using the explorer's map on the wall. Credited to my personal favorite character, Professor Ludwig Von Drake, the map details such landmarks as the Quackatoa volcano and the Angry Duck Archipelago.
Of course, we might not be getting to those places any time soon, judging from the gaping hole in the other side of the ship. Wondering how that happened? Come back for Tuesday's blog post, and you just might find out.
